Maximum quality and process reliability

At International Fastener Expo (October 17 – 19 in Las Vegas, NV) at booth 1949, Kistler will showcase its extensive portfolio of test and analysis systems for fastening technology. Visitors will be able to explore a wide variety of testing and quality assurance solutions – from development and production through to deployment in manufacturing.

In virtually every industry sector, assembly with bolts and screws is indispensable. For bolted joints to function safely and reliably – thus avoiding recalls and additional costs – it is crucial to continuously monitor and test the fastening technology in use. Hardware and software solutions from Kistler offer important benefits in this regard: Manufacturers can measure the functional characteristics of bolted joints and bolting tools, evaluate all the measured data and provide a clear presentation of the documented results.

Precision quality monitoring: ANALYSE fastener test systems

Fastening processes often present a challenge in series assembly: Functional characteristics such as the friction coefficient, preloading force and torque of the bolted joint need to be fully verified and documented from start to finish in order to guarantee consistently high quality during a production cycle. At International Fastener Expo, visitors will be able to experience the ANALYSE fastener test systems from Kistler – highly flexible modular test systems for quality monitoring. The test systems determine the functional characteristics of each individual fastener – from measurement and control of the bolting process through to comprehensive documentation of process parameters. The result: consistently increased process reliability, optimized resources and sustainable quality assurance according to international and OEM standards. At the show, the 1000 Nm ANALYSE fastener test system and 50 Nm ANALYSE vertical fastener test system will be presented.

VDI/VDE-compliant quality assurance: INSPECTOR torque wrench

Visitors will also be able to view the INSPECTOR torque wrench for fastening and checking bolted joint connections. Consisting of a hand grip with an integrated changeable battery, an operating unit and a measuring head, the easy-to-handle device allows users to carry out process capability tests on bolted joints under series production conditions in a matter of seconds. It offers quality assurance compliant with the VDI/VDE guideline after the fastening process is complete – an advantage that is especially important in the automotive and vehicle manufacturing industries. Moreover, the values measured in this way can be evaluated and archived using the software platforms CEUS and testXpert.

Mobile measuring and evaluation unit: INSPECTpro

Another solution that Kistler will exhibit at the show is the INSPECTpro – a portable, battery-powered measuring and evaluation unit for recording analog and incremental measurands: For random-sample testing during the assembly process, the torque or torque/angle of rotation sensor is inserted into the application with a rotating measuring shaft. The INSPECTpro connects to the sensor, and the measurement process can begin immediately. These tests can be performed, analyzed and documented quickly and effectively, thereby contributing to optimum quality in bolted joint assembly. In addition, the INSPECTpro offers connectivity with a range of sensors and can be expanded to create an individual, custom testing system via optional software modules.
