Indonesia as a very fast growing country is developing in many aspects. One of the development is in fastener industry. Currently, Indonesia Fastener Association’s members come from the companies who producing screws, bolts, walls, nails and other automotive components, where they can produce as many as 200,000 fastener tons per year in the year. In 2018, it is predicted to reach 300,000 tons of production. Harjanto, the General Director of Metal, Machinery, Transportation, Equipments and Electronics, Ministry of Industry mentioned that upto the first quaterly in 2018, metal sector grows quite good.

 

Not only that, automotive sector also grows in production and sales car. Based on Gaikindo (Indonesian Automotive Industry Association) report, production can reached around 903.880 and sales 801.745. In 2018, it had increase 10% higher. Gaikindo predicted that Indonesia’s automotive will be facing trade war with steady face. It because ratio car ownership still lower than number of population in Indonesia. With over 250 million people, Indonesia has a huge potential in automotive market and fastener will get a positive effect with this prediction. As automotive and construction industries will be the driving force for the global industries fastener market in 2020, hence, global industrial fastener market will grow steadily during the next four years.

 

Moreover, Indonesia is conducting massive infrastructure development on land route. On December 20, President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Trans Java Toll Road which connects Jakarta to Surabaya. There are two inauguration points in two different provinces. Inauguration in Jombang for four toll roads in East Java and Kendal for the inauguration of three toll roads in Central Java. This is a proof that Indonesia will become more potential country for fastener industry with this infrastructure development.
