Foreign Direct Investment Made in Vietnam Reached 20 Billion Dollars

According to the Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment, the amount of foreign direct investment committed to Vietnam in the first six months of 2018 was the US $ 20.33 billion, up 5.7 percent from the same period last year. Moreover, in the report of the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, it is stated that, as of June 20, 2018, real payments made under foreign investment projects increased by 8.4% on an annual basis and reached to the US $ 8.37 billion. Foreign investors made investments in 17 areas and sectors, and the production and processing area continued to attract great interest by foreigners with a capital inflow of USD 7.91 billion, which corresponds to 38.9% of the total capital received. The real estate sector ranks second with USD 5.54 billion in capital inflows and retail and wholesale ranks third with USD 1.5 billion.
