Car Sales in Europe Continue to Fall in March

According to the data released by the European Automotive Manufacturers Association in Brussels, the number of newly registered automobiles in Europe decreased by 3.6% in March compared to the previous year.
 
In March 2018, the number of newly registered automobiles in the European Union and European Free Trade Association countries, which were 1.84 million units in March, amounted to 1.77 million units at the end of March.
 
The automotive industry, which is trying to comply with the barriers imposed by the new emission legislation introduced in the European Union countries, is also facing decreasing demand.
 
On the brands' basis, Nissan and Ford were the companies that experienced the sharpest decline in sales. Nissan, which mainly sells to rental companies and other discounted channels, has decreased by 29.4%.
 
 Ford, which is in the process of restructuring the management since it has not been able to perform in the European market, experienced a 15.5% decrease in sales.
 
According to the same data, the loss of Daimler was 14% and Fiat Chrysler's sales decreased by 11.7%.
 
As of the end of the first quarter, the decline in new car registrations across Europe was 3.2%.
