Speaking at the opening of a conference on automotive design in Sofia, Liliya Ivanova, Deputy Minister of Economy of Bulgaria stated that over 200 million leva new investments were made in country's automotive industry during 2018, and these investments would provide more than 3200 new employment. 

 

The deputy minister said that the automotive sector had improved in recent years in Bulgaria and that the country had become increasingly attractive for investments in this sector. 220 companies were already operating in the sector and total employment was over 50 thousand. Ms. Ivanova said that there would be good developments in this sector in 2019, and 8 new investment projects were currently being worked on.
